As Giving Season approaches, the National Newspaper Publishers Association Fund is reminding the community why our work matters now more than ever.
Established in 1976, the National Newspaper Publishers Association Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing scholastic and professional initiatives that preserve and protect the legacy of the Black Press. Our mission is to prepare students to make meaningful contributions to the media industry and to their communities.
The NNPA Fund offers hands-on training, internships, and educational opportunities designed to give students real newsroom skills and professional development. These investments help young journalists build careers grounded in truth, accountability, and advocacy the same foundation the Black Press was built upon.
When you contribute to the NNPA Fund, you are not just donating; you are investing directly in the future of Black storytelling and media leadership. Your support helps ensure that Black voices, perspectives, and lived experiences remain centered in national conversations, newsrooms, and cultural archives.
Since 2011, the NNPA Fund has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to deserving students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities. These young scholars are preparing to become the next generation of reporters, producers, editors, and digital storytellers who will carry forward the legacy of the Black Press.
This Giving Season, we invite you to stand with us to champion the future visionaries who will define the next era of Black media. Help us continue this critical work by donating today at https://nnpafund.org/donate/
