NNPA Fund to Host Prestigious Messenger Awards at 2025 National Convention in Savannah

The NNPA Fund is proud to announce the return of the Messenger Awards, set to take place during the 2025 NNPA Annual Convention, June 25–28, at the stunning JW Marriott Savannah Plant District Hotel.

This year’s convention theme, “Engaging Black America: Empowerment, Justice, and Prosperity,” speaks to the core mission of the Black Press—to inform, uplift, and empower Black communities through fearless journalism and purposeful storytelling. As the NNPA (National Newspaper Publishers Association) commemorates 75 years of service, and the Black Press of America marks 197 years of powerful legacy, this event promises to be historic.

The Messenger Awards Dinner is a highlight of the convention, recognizing outstanding journalism, impactful storytelling, and community-centered reporting from Black-owned newspapers across the country. These awards represent the highest journalistic honors within the Black Press and celebrate the voices shaping Black narratives from coast to coast.
